Registration for the Camaro Nationals includes admission to the GM Nationals. The sticker on your car allows entrance Thursday through Sunday for your Camaro, two adults and 2 children.

This is an explanation of the various classes offered at the Camaro Nationals. They are broken down into judged and non-judged; and the judged classes are then broken down into participant vote, 200 point, 1000 point, and 5000 point systems. The classes are more detailed and more difficult as the point system increases, and obviously, it takes more time to judge them as the points level goes up.

Non-Judged Classes
Non-Judged Field

Class 30
Whether you are just not into detailing your Camaro, or you just have more trophies than your garage has shelves, this class allows you to participate in all the fun and comradery of the Nationals without any of the work - and still gets you a front row parking spot for your Camaro - at a price that can't be beat. This class is open to any and all Camaros, in any condition, as long as they can drive onto the field under their own power.
Heritage Class

Class 45
This class allows the display of Certified Camaros - those that have completed Vintage, Legend, or Bow Tie systems. Please do not plan on your car being under cover.

Participant Vote Classes

(Fun Field)

Participant vote classes are open to all Camaros. These classes are judged by popular vote of all Camaro attendees. Stock should generally appear stock. Mild Mod is for bolt-on items under hood, seat changes, tuner lenses, etc. No cutting of body, hood, or dash panels in Mild Modified. Modified / Custom classes are open to scoops, blowers, custom dashes, roll cages, tubs, airbrushing etc.

Point Judged Classes
The following classes must be pre-registered.

Heartbeat Classes

200 Point System

Classes 1 - 26
"Show & Shine"

Camaros should be registered in the class that BEST DESCRIBES the car. Judges will be evaluating the overall cleanliness and detailing of the car, along with the body fit & finish, and condition of the interior, engine compartment, trunk, chassis, etc.

Points will be deducted for modifications beyond those allowed in the class guidelines.

As in most all judged events, trunks and hoods and doors must be open or unlocked to allow judges access to the areas in question. Never place wedges into hinges or springs to support heavy hoods or trunks; as damage could occur when hood is closed to check allignment. Use an obvious prop or support rod if needed......no points will be lost of item is sprung within reason. Windows and Convertible tops must be up and viewable to receive points....judges will not roll up windows or put up tops of registrant's cars. Unless otherwise noted; spare tires are required for full points....but note that judges will not remove factory spare cover panels on 3rd and 4th gen cars - nor will they remove trunk mats in 5th gen cars; due to scuffing, and alignment of a registrants car. Full points will be awarded for spare tires in these classes.

Classes may be spit or combined based on number of registrants in a class.

STOCK - Original or restored cars in these classes must be overall stock. Color and interior must have been available for that year production. Radial tires up to one size above stock are allowed. Points will be deducted for aftermarket radios, shifters, wrong air cleaners, non stock wheels, spoilers on 67's, cowl hoods on 67's & 68's, headers, etc.

Bow Tie Classes

1000 Point System

Class 57-59

This class will be judged 'stock'. Cars will be judged against a judging sheet for a points based award, rather than against other cars. Although cleanliness will be addressed, the major emphasis will be on duplicating the way the car would have come from the factory. Basic numbers and tags will be checked, to confirm that features, options, and colors are correct for the car being judged. Engine block must be matching numbers to achieve maximum points. Judges will be checking for bias tires, spiral shocks, proper battery, alternator, distributor, etc. Equipment may be original, NOS, good quality used, or quality reproduction parts. Class limited to 15 cars in 1st generation, 5 cars each in 2nd & 3rd gen. As is for all judged classes, Bow Tie MUST be pre-registered. 1st generation fills very quickly, so do not hesitate if interested. Please note that although this class goes into quite a bit of detail, it is not on a par with our concours classes. Judging time is approximately 25 minutes per car, compared to 3 hours in concours. For those cars considering the possibility of moving on to Legends class, and would like to have their car approved to move up, specify ' L'. There is a small additional fee for this check.

These classes are the apex of the Camaro judging systems.

Due to the extensive judging time and detail involved in the following classes, judging will occur inside building 'Y'. As the popularity of these classes continues to increase, it may not be possible to keep all participants inside the building while not being judged. Indoor spaces will be assigned based on:

  1. Returning Camaros
  2. Number of times car has returned
  3. Method of pre-qualification
  4. Receipt date of completed registration and pre-qualification forms with all requested information and part numbers.
  5. Click Here Details on Parking and Class Size Limitations pdf file

Heritage Display cars will fill any unassigned indoor spaces as of 30 days prior to show.

Vintage Certification

Class 51-52

Camaros anticipating entry into the Vintage program must be pre-qualified. Vintage Camaro inspects the Camaro on a maximum 5000 point system, based on the options and features of the individual automobile. Obviously matching numbers are required on all marked components. As Certification verifies that the Camaro is an intact, undisturbed original car; most entrants into this program will be low mileage all-original cars. If interested, contact A.C.A. or Vintage Camaro as soon as possible, as number of Camaros is limited. This is a one year program.

Class 53-54

Info on Legend Class

Click Here for Class Size Limitations pdf file

As this restored class goes into detail beyond the scope of many participants, Camaros entering this class must be qualified by previous participation in class 57/58 L (Bow Tie), or by inspection by one of the concurs judges prior to entry. This requirement is in place to save expense and time of those not familiar with this system, and to prevent assigning the limited number of Legend spaces to unqualified cars, thus preventing qualified cars from participating. Obviously matching numbers are required on all marked components. This is an extremely thorough system; all parts will be evaluated as to correctness, originality, finish, and condition. Cars must achieve a minimum score to continue in the system the following year; and must achieve a score of 96% within three years to 'graduate' and achieve Heritage status. If a car achieves a score of 98% prior to the third year, it automatically achieves the "Top Flight Award" with Heritage status and does not need to return for additional judging. If interested in this class, contact A.C.A. as soon as possible. Space is limited to returning Camaros plus a limited number of new entries. Accepted entrants may request a copy of the scoring sheet to assist in final preparation of the car.

Be sure to complete and submit a pre-qualification form along with your pre-registration form if you are a first time Concours applicant.
